Ever been frustrated by long lines for your favorite ride? How about a ride breakdown when you’re already in line?
Unfortunately, that nightmare combination has plagued Epcot’s new Frozen Ever After ride at Walt Disney World. The ride, housed in Epcot’s Norway pavilion in the spot of the former Maelstrom boat ride, opened last Tuesday, June 21 but immediately struggled under the pressure of 300-minute wait times. Quick math: That’s five hours!
Then, in the midst of the frenzy, the ride has suffered from numerous shutdowns as reported by park guests on social media and the official My Disney Experience app itself.
Unconfirmed: If the line for #FrozenEverAfter makes a complete circle around the World Showcase, a bonus Epcot level will be unlocked.

In true Disney fashion, cast members helped by passing out free ice cream to guests who were stuck in lines that snaked through the World Showcase.
Since the technical problems and long lines have persisted since the ride opened (at the time of this writing, the wait time is reported as being more than two hours), Disney has added Frozen Ever After to the list of rides open during Extra Magic Hours (special hours before park opening or after public closing available to Disney resort guests).
But, to avoid those lines altogether and guarantee smooth sailing through Arendelle, several on-ride videos emerged quickly after the ride opened. If they do the actual ride experience justice, it looks like a huge winner for Disney. If you’re okay with spoiling the surprise, watch below:
